Patients and their families gather for Speak Now for Kids Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C., to learn how to be effective citizen advocates and share their stories with lawmakers. The activities include a sightseeing bus tour, advocate role play assistance, a patriotic celebration dinner, lunch on Capitol Hill and visits with House or Senate members. The schedule allows for time to rest or sightsee on your own.
Hospital representatives are encouraged to schedule meetings with lawmakers on Wednesday, June 17 and/or Thursday, June 18.
